THE CLINIC
One Elephant is founded on the basis that better health can be achieved when patients and practitioners alike work together in an effort to optimize and personalize care.
Our vision is to transform health through personalized and team-based medicine.
Our mission is to provide excellence in Patient Care through these 4 pillars:
-
Integration: Engaging patients and healthcare professionals in team-based care
-
Education: Helping patients understand their mental and physical health
-
Community: Making a difference & giving back to the Oakville community
-
Clinical Research: Actively prioritizing involvement in evidence-based health
We have deliberately designed our space with collaboration and a team approach in mind. We are proud to deliver round table, integrative team visits, where a patient can work closely in a group of their key health providers, specifically assembled to best address their health goals. Our model allows for patients to benefit from efficiencies rather than redundancies with all of their key health experts under one roof, and avoid having to repeat themselves to multiple providers.

WE ARE FAMILY
Our clinical team is made up of actual family and people who feel like family. Many of us have known each other for several years, and some of us go back to the diaper age together (we’ll let you guess who those might be!). We are deliberate and thoughtful in how we bring together our staff and practitioners because we know how important it is for practitioners to trust and respect one another, and also be able to smile and laugh together in challenging times.
Beyond being wonderful humans, our practitioners are exceptionally good at their respective crafts and care deeply about making a positive impact in the lives of their patients. Our collective goal at One Elephant is to put patients first and treat them like an extension of our family, with the care and respect they deserve, in a collaborative, empowering, and welcoming space.
FOUNDERS
Welcome to One Elephant Integrative Health Team! We are so excited to introduce ourselves and our clinic to you. We (Dr. Lewis, Dr. Shergill, and Norine) founded One Elephant Integrative Health Team with a shared goal in mind - to create a family of incredible practitioners with a passion for team-based health, and to build a community around our shared philosophy that achieving a good state of functional health requires connection, support, and trust.
So what’s our story, you may ask? Well, let’s just say, it has two Volumes. Volume I involves just two of us: Dr. Lewis and Dr. Shergill. We have a pretty long-standing friendship that ultimately led to us co-founding The Centre for Collaborative Health, the first collaborative clinic in Oakville. This experience was an amazing opportunity for us to begin building our vision of collaborative health. We began forming a pretty awesome team of practitioners, which led us to Volume II - where we met Norine!

The three of us met for, what was meant to be, a casual coffee date one afternoon. A mutual patient had decided to play “professional matchmaker” and suggested we connect to talk all things health, private practice, and women in business. Things escalated quickly from there....in the best way possible. A conversation over tea and coffee turned into a realization that we had a lot in common. From that serendipitous meeting onwards, we practiced under the same roof together for nearly three years, and loved every minute of it. Over time, we knew it was time to set our sights on the clinic of our dreams - a clinic that represented our wildly different but cohesive personalities, the team of women that became our family, and our patients, in the way that we envisioned. One Elephant was born from there, and we suppose that makes it Volume III! Through the building of this vision, we have become sisters in life and business alike, and our clinic is a true labor of love, based on a dream that has manifested into the best reality.

PROGRAMS

Our roundtable, team-based visits is what sets us apart at One Elephant. These visits allow for health care providers of different disciplines to sit together under one roof, with you on your first visit.
A thorough history, detailed physical examination and exploration of your goals will take place on your first visit. Together, as a team (this includes you!), a comprehensive treatment plan that incorporates multiple specialties is tailored specifically for you. In other words, you only have to tell your story once and leave the rest to us.
In addition to our integrated, team-based visits, our dedicated health care providers meet weekly in case conferences to discuss your progress. Team-based visits and case conferences allow for coordinated and integrated care, input from a variety of specialities, and better health outcomes.
