Massage Therapy involves the hands-on treatment of muscles, connective tissue and joints of the body. The goal of massage therapy is to promote the body’s natural ability to relax, improve pain and restore optimal movement. Registered Massage Therapists can use a combination of massage techniques to optimize physical and mental health. Registered Massage Therapists will often include stretches and exercises to their treatment plans.
Registered Massage Therapists have completed, at minimum, a two-year college program in massage therapy. All Registered Massage Therapists must pass the certification examinations administered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Registered Massage Therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
